Berlin has a lot of great food, but pizza is the one I keep going back to. Maybe it’s because I’m half Italian, but a good Neapolitan pizza just always works. Soft crust, fluffy edges, simple tomato sauce, proper mozzarella. Nothing complicated. I almost always go for a Margherita: it’s just the best way to tell if a place is actually good.
Over the past years, I’ve tried quite a few spots in Berlin. These are the ones I keep coming back to. Happy exploring! 🙂
Nr. 5 – 60 seconds to Napoli (Prenzlauer Berg)
The name already tells you what to expect—the pizza is in the oven for around 60 seconds, which gives it that typical soft texture. The Margherita is good, but they also have a lot of more creative options. It’s a good place for bigger groups, just make sure to book ahead, especially in the evening. The good news is that they expanded outside of Berlin as well with restaurants all over Germany and even Amsterdam.

Nr. 4 – The Grain (Prenzlauer Berg)
The Grain is a beautifully designed restaurant nestled in the charming Gleimviertel of Prenzlauer Berg. They offer an impressive selection of Pizza Napoletana, and I must say, their Pizza Margherita is exceptional. It’s not the cheapest, but the service is good and it’s a nice place to sit and stay for a while.

Nr. 3 – Spaccanapoli No.12 (Friedrichshain)
This was the first pizza I had when I moved to Berlin, and it still holds a special place in my memory for good reason: it’s absolutely delicious! At just €10.90 for a Margherita, it’s a fantastic value among Berlin’s pizza restaurants. They also offer bruschetta and mixed antipasti platters as starters. If you’re near the East Side Gallery, I highly recommend taking a stroll to this pizzeria!
Nr. 2 – Malafemmena (Prenzlauer Berg)
Malafemmena is the go-to spot for an authentic southern Italian experience. Their starters feature a delightful selection of Napoli’s finest treats, and the pizzas are equally delicious. The service is exceptional, adding to the overall charm of the place. However, it’s quite cozy, so be sure to make a reservation in advance if you’d prefer to avoid sitting outside in the chilly Berlin winter. They also have a restaurant in Schöneberg if you’re lazy to come all the way to P-Berg. This is also the Pizzeria we always order if we decide to eat at home – and it never disappoints.
Nr. 1 – CapVin (Prenzlauer Berg & Mitte)
My personal favorite. I’ve been here more times than I can count, and it’s always delicious. Although I have to be honest, service isn’t always perfect, but it doesn’t really matter once the food arrives. The Pizza Margherita never disappoints! Be sure to book ahead to avoid waiting in the queue especially at the location in Mitte.

Happy eating! 🙂
